INDIANAPOLIS -- Eleven Fireworks nights, ten Souvenir Sundays and two new value oriented promotions highlight the Indianapolis Indians 2011 promotional schedule. Other popular returning promotions include nine Monday Dollar Menu offerings and six Wednesday Business Day affairs.
In addition to eight Friday Night Fireworks shows (May 13 & 20, June 2 & 24, July 22, Aug. 5 & 19, Sept. 2), Victory Field will also feature special fireworks shows on Thursday, April 7 (Opening Day), Monday, June 6 (presented by Teachers Credit Union), Monday, July 4th (Independence Day) and Saturday, September 3rd (Home Finale).
Saturday nights at Victory Field will be "ZOOper-sized" again in 2011. "ZOOper Zaturdays" will feature larger-than-life ZOOperstars! characters performing throughout nine Saturday home games. The first "ZOOper Zaturday" of the season will see various mascots from the Indianapolis area invade Victory Field on April 9 for Mascot Mania.
The first 2,500 fans will receive a commemorative item from the Indians on all Souvenir Sundays during the upcoming campaign. The list of souvenir giveaways includes an Indians Wall Calendar (April 10), Indians Souvenir Cup (May 1), Rowdie Picture Frame (May 15), Indians Jersey T-Shirt (June 5), Indians Flex Fit Cap (June 12), Indians Grill Set (June 26), Indians Gym Bag (July 24) and Rowdie Clock (Aug. 7) as well as a patriotic giveaway of a hand-held American flag to the first 10,000 fans on July 4.
The Indians will also introduce two new value-oriented promotions this season. Tuesdays at Victory Field this year will be "Indy Star 2-for-1 Tuesdays". Fans can get two tickets for the price of one each Tuesday by clipping a coupon from The Indianapolis Star. The coupons will appear in the Sunday edition of The Indianapolis Star prior to each Tuesday home game.
The Thursday Value Pack will also make its debut in 2011, giving fans another chance to get even more bang for their buck at Victory Field - including unlimited soda. Through this special package, a $15 ticket also includes, a hot dog, unlimited soda and a choice of a souvenir item.
Meanwhile, the Indians most popular value-oriented promotion returns for an eighth straight season - the Monday Dollar Menu. On Monday home games throughout the season (excluding May 16 and July 4) fans can purchase hot dogs, peanuts, Cracker Jack, popcorn, and potato chips for just $1 each. Fans can also again enjoy a Wednesday away from work with six Wednesday Business Day games (April 27, May 18, June 1, July 20, Aug. 17 & 31) being held at 1:05 p.m. throughout the season.
The Baseball in Education program expands in 2011 as students will have four opportunities (April 12, May 3, 16 & 19) to apply their classroom curriculum to a baseball setting during the 11:05 a.m. weekday games. Close to 30,000 students attended the three BIE games held at Victory Field last season.
Children 14-and-under can enjoy "Baseball Up Close" all season long by joining the Community Health/WISH-TV Knot Hole Kids Club for just $15. Adults can also get in on the action by purchasing a variety of ticket packages including full-season, half-season, 20-ticket flex, ten-ticket flex, and various mini plans starting at just $40.
